Charis Development now has a digital home.

The new Charis Development site brings our applications, news, account tools into one place.
The aim is simple: to build high quality, thoughtful, and accessible products for the edification of the Church. Our applications are designed to promote experimental religion and piety. As the Charis application “constellation” grows, this site will also serve as a hub to manage Charis accounts. The new Charis accounts help facilitate synchronization of user data to the cloud as well as “cross talk” between applications. The two Psalter apps can speak to each other if you have a shared Charis App so that your memorization lists and such will be cross-app compatible in addition to storing your annotations from the Rutherford’s Letters App.
The current applications and application roadmap is as follows:
- 1650 Psalter brings the 1650 Psalter together with sheet music, integrated words, and tunes. The new version which has come out on iOS and is in Google Play review for Android, now synchronizes your data with your Charis account. In addition, it works hand-in-hand with the new 1650 Spoken Word Psalter and will list all of your memory work being done in that application in the psalter.
- 1650 Spoken Word is being prepared as a tool for memorization, allowing users to listen to the psalter without music. This is in both Apple and Google Play review, presently. Release is imminent.
- Rutherford’s Letters provides a daily letter from Samuel Rutherford with narrator voice support. Many use this as a daily devotional aid.
- Free Church Standards helps users discover the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing), her constitution, principles, Acts of Assembly, and related resources.
- Reformed Ethics is planned as a companion for studying Reformed moral theology and practical Christian living. Ask an AI trained on resources from Reformed casuistry from such as Perkins and Ames.
The applications are free and ad-free. That is intentional. We do not want edification to come at a cost for those souls who wish to grow nearer to Christ. We saw that with the 1650 Psalter App. Originally designed to remove any “friction” from psalm singing, thousands around the world now use it to praise God daily, because it is a free tool.
For the first time, we are seeking donations to help continue to develop and maintain these applications. Considerable costs are incurred today in hosting, maintenance, store fees, and development tools. If these applications are useful to you, or if you would like to help make them available to others, you can give a one-time or monthly donation through this site.
A link to donate is found here: Donate to Charis Development
We pray that these applications will be the glory of Jesus Christ.
